What Is Company Sponsorship ?

Company Sponsorship basically means a on board training assurance by a shipping company after completion of pre-sea training.

Sponsored candidate is used for as a candidate who will be sponsored a sea bearth on bpard a ship on completion of training. It does not relate to sponsorship of tution fees at pre sea training insti.

                  Getting sponsored for Pre - Sea Training (DECK CADET - DNS, ENGINE CADET-B.TECH MARINE ENGINEERING, GME, ETO)  by a shipping company means that you will be guaranteed a job as a Trainee on-board after the completion of Pre-Sea training. Nowadays many companies provide sponsorship for eligible candidates. The eligibility criteria varies from company to company, some companies prefer candidates with high grades and some might select an average candidate. The main criteria for sponsorship is attitude, this is what the field demands. If ones attitude is not proper, then its time to shift to another job.

                  Sponsorship exams are conducted by companies on a regular basis. Sponsorship exam generally consists of:

• Written Offline/Online Test
• Personal interview (Interview will be taken by a Captain/Chief Officers/Chief Enggs.)
• Psychometric Analysis/Tests (Mental state of a candidate)
• Medical Examination (By D.G Approved Doctor)

If these four rounds/phases are successfully cleared then a candidate will be given a “Sponsorship Letter” for pursuing PRE -S EA course.

Sponsorship only means that the candidate will be guaranteed a job once he completes his training, the whole course fee will have to be paid by the candidate and the company will not be accounted for the same.

Why company provides pre sponsorship?

Company provides pre sponsorship due to high demand of skilled manpower in shipping industry.

  
What is the benefit of pre-sponsorship?

1. Job surety - Pre sponsorship gives surety to the students that after the successful completion of training, they will be absorbed onboard by the sponsored company.
2. Easy availability of bank loan - Pre sponsor letter helps students to avail the bank loan for their training as it is job surety letter so on the basis of this letter bank easily grant loan to the students.

What do you mean by a sponsored candidate?

The term sponsored candidate is used for a candidate who will be sponsored a sea-berth on board a ship on completion of Pre Sea Training. It does not relate to sponsorship of tuition fees at the pre-sea training institute.

A candidate who has met all the qualifying criteria will be sponsored a sea berth by shipping company on board.
